RING ONE

SHOW JUMPING                           Commencing 9.00 am

 

        

 

CLASS 1:  NOVICE

Riders any age.  Ponies 14.2hh & under.  Jumps approximately 2'3" first round.


CLASS 2:  OPEN INTERMEDIATE

Jumps approximately 2'6" first round.

 

CLASS 3:   ACCUMULATOR -"TAKE YOUR OWN LINE"

Each competitor "takes their own line" over selected fences (min 2" - max 3').  Every fence will have a different points value that will accumulate during each round, which must be ridden within a specified time limit.  Fences must be jumped clear to gain points & no fence can be jumped more than twice.  Most points accumulated within time limit wins.

 

CLASS 4:   OPEN

Jumps approximately 2'9" first round.(Special prize for highest placed rider living within 5 miles radius of showground)

CLASS 5:  OPEN

Jumps approximately 3'3" first round.

CLASS 6:  OPEN

Jumps approximately 3'6" first round.

Classes 1,2,4,5 & 6 to be jumped as 2 phase (i.e. all clears continue straight over jump-off course after completing first section.)

Trophy to all class winners.

Prize money in classes 1- 6: (1st - £10) (2nd -£8)  (3rd -£6)

Entry fee  £6 (£7.50 on day) 


 

RING TWO

SHOWING               commencing 9.00 am  

Competitors may only enter one class (7-11).  1st and 2nd places in each of these classes to qualify for Championship Class 12

 

CLASS 7  LEAD REIN WORKING HUNTER PONY

Ponies not exceeding 12.2hh.  Riders 10 yrs & under.  Jumps 1'6" max. over a short course

 

CLASS 8  WORKING HUNTER PONY

Ponies not exceeding 12.2hh.  Jumps approx. 2'

 

CLASS 9  WORKING HUNTER PONY

Ponies not exceeding 13.2hh. Jumps approx. 2'3"

 

CLASS 10  WORKING HUNTER PONY

Horses not exceeding 14.2hh.  Jumps approx. 2'6"

 

CLASS 11  WORKING HUNTER

Horses exceeding 14.2hh.  Jumps approx. 3'

 

CLASS 12 WORKING HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIP

1st and 2nd in Classes 7-11 qualify - no entry fee

 

Trophy to all class winners.

Entry fee: £6 (£7.50 on day)

 

The Working Hunter courser will be open for Clear Round jumping after

the Championship Class  - entry at ringside £2 per round,  £1.50 without rosette.


RING THREE

Class may be split according to  age & depending on entries:  13 yrs & under / 14 yrs & over

 

CLASS 14  BEST FAMILY HORSE/PONY

Class may be split (14.2hh. & under / 14.3hh. & over) according to entries.  To be judged on manners and all round suitability, for all family members. The Catrona- Bramble Perpetual Trophy to the winner.  (If this class is split the Catrona-Bramble Trophy will be presented to the 14.3hh & over section)

           

CLASS 15  BEST PONY CLUB PONY

14.2hh & under. Please make sure you have proof of up-to-date P C membership with you

 

CLASS 16  LEAD REIN PONY

Ponies not exceeding 13.2hh

CLASS 17  MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND RIDDEN - OPEN

CLASS 18  MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND IN-HAND - OPEN

CLASS 19  MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND LEAD REIN

CLASS 20  VETERAN RIDDEN HORSE/PONY   -15 yrs & over.

CLASS 21  VETERAN IN-HAND HORSE/PONY - 15 yrs & over.

CLASS 22  MATURE RIDER - (35 yrs & over)

Classes 20 & 21 will be judged on fluency of movement & condition

1st and 2nd in Classes 20, 21 and 22 to qualify for Veteran Horse, Pony,  & Rider Club Supreme Championships (www.vhprc.co.uk<http://www.vhprc.co.uk>) in September 2012.  If 1st or 2ndhave previously been placed in another qualifying round then placings down the line will qualify -competitors to please alert the Ring Steward if this occurs.

Classes 13 - 22: Entry fee: £6 (£7.50 on day)

 

RING  FOUR

CLEAR ROUND JUMPING         commencing 9.00 am

                                       continuing throughout the day

Fences will be adjusted according to the Judge's discretion.

Rosettes for all clear rounds

RING FIVE

CLASS 23 BEST  RIDDEN COLOURED - OPEN

CLASS 24   RIDING HORSE - 14.2hh and over

CLASS 25  RACEHORSE TO RIDING HORSE

Open to Thoroughbred Mares or Geldings, 4 yrs or over, exceeding 15hh.  Riders must be 16 yrs or over.  All entries MUST be entered with Weatherbys in their General Stud Book.  Please send or bring photocopy of horse's passport details prior to the class. Horses MUST HAVE RACED OR BEEN IN TRAINING. Prize for the highest placed veteran 13 yrs or over. Rosettes for this class kindly provided by 'Retraining of Horses'

CLASS 26  FANCY DRESS  (Hard hats must be worn) Rosettes to all competitors

Trophy to all class winners

RING SIX

SHOW JUMPING                               commencing 9.00 am

CLASS 27   RESTRICTED NOVICE
Riders any age.  Horses/ponies any height  Combination never to have been placed          
1st, 2nd or 3rd  in any jumping competition.  Jumps approximately 2' first round.

  

 

MINI & NOVELTY JUMPING     

commencing approximately 12 noon

CLASS 28  MERRYLEGS MINIMUS JUMPING

Competitors 10 yrs & under - ponies not exceeding 12.2hh.  Jumps approx. 1'6" first round.  Class to be divided into (A)Lead and (B) Non-Lead Rein Sections. Sections to be judged separately but run concurrently.  Rosettes to all clear rounds.  Combinations may only enter A or B but not both.  Combination not to have won any jumping competition.

CLASS 29 HORSE & HOUND JUMPING

To be judged on time.  Horse to go first, rider then exchanges horse for dog (on or off lead) Rider may, and dog must, jump same course.  Jumps approx. 1'6"

Trophy to all class winners.

Classes 27 - 29 :Entry fee: £6 (£7.50 on day)


           

 


RING SEVEN

HANDY PONY           9.30 am - 12.30 pm

14.2hh and under.  A timed obstacle course with various "tasks" to complete or negotiate.  Fastest            time (with all tasks successfully completed) will be the Winner.  (A) Lead and (B) non-Lead Rein         sections will be judges separately, but will run concurrently.*Combinations may only enter A or B              sections but not both.

Entry fee: £2.00 per entry at ringside.  Prizes to be announced and presented at 2.00pm in the Show   Secretary's tent.  Judges decision is final.

RING  EIGHT

DRESSAGE          commencing 9.30 am

  • Dressage classes will be judged under British Dressage rules. Competitors please make yourselves known to the collecting ring steward for a tack inspection prior to competing.

  • Entries close on  Tuesday 13th September 2011

  • Times will be available on Thursday 15th September between 7.00pm - 9.00pm only.  If you do not ring for your times we will assume you have withdrawn and your place may be given to someone else.  Telephone 07813 010931

  • Times not available on website as we  take into account that competitors may be entering other classes and we will try to accommodate accordingly.

  • Results & Times will be on display in the Secretary's Tent.

  • Prizegiving - Competitors will be able to collect their rosettes from the Secretary's tent after the results are posted on the scoreboard in the Secretary's Tent.

CLASS 30     PRELIM 14 (2006)

CLASS 31     PRELIM 12 (2005)

CARRIAGE DRIVING  Affiliated driving classes

                                          commencing at 2.00pm

                       

        

CLASS 32   EXERCISE VEHICLE - ANY HEIGHT

Single, pair or tandem pony, horse or mule driven to a utility or pneumatic wheeled vehicle two or four wheeled only (no traditional vehicles).  Vehicles must be clean, tidy and safe, suitable for everyday driving across mixed terrain.  Pony/horse/mule must be correctly harnessed and spares must be carried.  Whips should be appropriately dressed.  This will be judged under BDS rules and the class may be split at the Judge's and /or Show Secretary's discretion depending on entries.

 

CLASS 33   THE NOVICES - OPEN  'TO MAN AND BEAST'

Single or pair horse(s) or pony(s)  4 years or over driven to any vehicle except a Hackney show                   wagon. The horse or pony OR The Whip must not have been placed first in ANY type of driving                 competition before April 1st 2011.  Each turnout will be asked to perform a simple show to                         demonstrate basic driving skills, including traditional signals, rein handling and the whip will be asked to drive a short set test.

 

CLASS 34  BDS PRIVATE DRIVING CLASS OPEN

For horse(s) or pony(s)  4 years or over harnessed to a well maintained vehicle suitable for an amateur to drive on the road, as a single, tandem or pair.  Spares will be required to be shown.  Commercial and Hackney wagons barred.  This will be judged under BDS rules and the class may be split at the Judge's and or Show Secretary's discretion, depending on entries.  Special Awards will be given to the highest placed exercise vehicle.

CLASS 35  BDS PRIVATE DRIVING CLASS OPEN WITH DRIVE

Of not less than 4 miles, open to horses or ponies and mules - singles or multiples correctly harnessed to a well maintained vehicle suitable for an amateur to drive on the road (with spares). Commercial and Hackney show wagons barred. The class may be split if numbers permit at the Judge's discretion, to make the most suitable and competitive class.  Everyone who completes the drive satisfactorily to receive a BDS Drive Rosette.

RULES:

  1. All turnouts are required to produce evidence of third party insurance.
  2. All junior whips under the age of 18 yrs will be required to be accompanied by an experienced adult.
  3. All horses / ponies must be 4 years or over.
  4. Grooms are not required to ride within the vehicle.
